Hansei University (Korean pronunciation: [haːnse]) is a mid-sized University located in Gunpo City near Seoul, South Korea. It was established in 1953 as The Full Gospel Theological Seminary by the Assemblies of God. Today Hansei University trains ministers and pastors and is a major runner of the Pentecostal movement in South Korea.
The University originally started its mission as the Full Gospel Theological College and changed its name to Soonshin University. In 1997, the name was again changed to Hansei University.
The University chancellor, Dr. David Yonggi Cho, is one of the University’s graduates. He is the pastor of the Yoido Full Gospel Church, which has been for a long time the largest Church in the world. His wife, Kim Sung Hae is currently the president of Hansei University.
